"In the News"

Feedback/Guestbook Modules Jobs

"In the News" is our most popular module, for it makes it easy to keep crucial content updated and fresh on your site. News entries may be used for and categorized into an endless variety of types such as:

  • Press Releases
  • Articles
  • Backgrounders
  • News Clips (information not in standard press release format)
  • Success Stories
  • Letters
  • Events
  • Testimonials
The types are easily customizable by the webmaster.

The cycle of user interaction with news information follows our standard approach of specifying keywords (or full criteria) to finding a list of items from which a user may choose to see detailed information or submit their own:

Find items by keyword or type.

Fully search items by keyword, type, date, author, and who released it.

List items showing item type, release date, title (linked to full item detail) author, company, and if different, by whom it was posted.

Show full detail for a chosen item, including an optional thumbnail image, which is linked to full size image, if available. Links are automatically created to the writers and associated company and if applicable, detail information. Additionally, any products that were linked to an item upon submission are listed along with links to product detail.

Submit "In the News" items once you've logged in with your full access account. Items are saved in a "pending" state and are added to the "live" site when a manager "activates" it. Upon item activation, a "What's New" item is automatically added to the list and a "latest what's new" is added to thee home page.

Thus, the cycle of new and updated information from user interaction refreshing the site's content continues.

Tech note: As with other modules on the site, a given page or section may be hard coded to retrieve a particular news type thereby creating multiple website area functions from one module. This is done behind the scenes using one centralized module. For instance, success stories appear to be a standalone page. However, it is really using the news module to show items based upon their item type.
