What's New

Email   Modules  Awards

What's New is one of the most valuable features of the site. Numerous studies have shown that to get repeat visitors, the site content must be updated frequently. The What's New module creates a single page that can be bookmarked to quickly show the site's changes in reverse chronological listing (most recent changes are shown first). While many sites have What's New pages they are manually maintained and thus are often out of date or missing pertinent information. since our What's New system is database driven and integrated with all other modules on the site, it is kept up to date and comprehensive automatically. With no human intervention required! For example: When a new item is posted to the site and activated a corresponding What's New entry is made linking back to the news items full content. Additionally, the detailed information about the author of the item is automatically linked.

From the Website Manager's Page you can easily access the What's New page to perform administrative duties..

Select the desired What's New item to be edited.

What's New entries are fully searchable (like everything else on the site) so that one may view only items of particular interest. By default the most recent ten items are shown regardless of content or subject area.

In addition, What's New items may be added manually by editors or above. When adding What's New entry, a broadcast email may optionally be sent to the entire website mailing list with the contents of What's New. While this feature should be used sparingly, it provides a valuable method of informing people interested in your products and services. For specific control of broadcast emails the Email module may be used.

When a What's New entry is created, automatically or manually, also created is an HTML snippet which contains the latest What's New entry. That snippet may then be included in other pages (most commonly on the Home page). That item links back to the full What's New list.

New information brings users back to your site!

Manager's function: Managers may add entries, see or edit other entries as well.
