Links
Links is an essential module for quality content which is crucial for a successful site. There already exists a tremendous amount of content on the net. Our Links module enables you to expand the scope of your website to incorporate existing content by referencing other sites. Of course, it's up to you to wade through the junk to find the jewels with appropriate content. But once you have found the jewels, our links module will help you manage them quickly and easily.
From the Website Manager's page
you can add/edit links.
Select the page
on which
you want to add/edit links.
Add/Update links
topics from a simple form on the website.
To
enter a link
for a given page, a topic is chosen from a pop-up menu that is auto populated with topics specified by a site manager. The link to site name, URL, short description, any additional information (which may include HTML tags) are added.
A summary of related links
is shown so that users may make an informed choice.
Many sites have lists of links. However, the problem with them is that links quickly become out of date or broken. It is time consuming for websites owners to keep their pages updated with the most current and appropriate links. Our Links module uses a database (as you may have guessed by now). This database approach allows both administrators and users with accounts to add and update links. The links are fully searchable by all and can be dynamically categorized through a management function. Links are added to a page specified by an administrator. Like any item, when a link is activated a What's New entry is automatically created and the latest What's New item (generally appearing on the site's home page) is updated.
Manager's function: From a single links module managers can create any number of content related pages of links and may group links on a given page by defining any number of topics. Links are normally sorted alphabetically under each topic on a given page. However, a manager may override that order to force particular links to appear at the top or bottom under a desired topic.
*Note: Legal issues of linking to other sites are your responsibility and explicitly not that of InfoMatters, Inc.
