Bug Reporting
Bug Reporting checks on the status of bugs on your system or public bugs and makes full access reporting. This module ranks and classifies bugs as to who can see them (ie. internal or external bugs) and reports them in a hierarchical manner. Bug reporting is fully searchable by product feature, such as data entry. Users can report bugs and/or feature requests online. They are queried for details of their hardware and software configuration. They are led through a very structured analysis and description of the bug so that it can be repaired. Once a bug is reported, management can track the bug through the steps from confirmation and classification of type and urgency, through to resolution including comments about the fix or verification of a fix or wish list implementation. Resolution notes are automatically compiled to create a basis for a revision report, thereby automatically tracking changes between versions. Authorized users may search the database to find the status of their submitted bugs or those of others.
This module helps developers get real world input on desired changes or bugs. Following the trend of public beta tests, getting structured reproducible bug reports from users at large helps create more usable error free products. It benefits your users as well by helping them avoid wasting countless hours struggling with the pitfalls already surrounding known bugs and issues. Since the database is completely searchable, bug submissions are greatly reduced.
