ERIC for Parents
The Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC), a popular resource for educators, also offers a wealth of information for parents. Funded by the US Dept of Education, the ERIC system is celebrating 30 years of collecting and providing information about education issues and practices. Parents can use ERIC to locate information about educating children with special needs, understanding performance assessment, or helping your child with science or math. ERIC is set up as a number of clearinghouses. Start by calling 1-800-LET-ERIC (538-3742) during normal weekday business hours to order free brochures or to obtain referrals to the clearinghouse that can best answer your question. A non-profit organization that provides customized support for individuals and/or their families with health-related problems. FHC connects people who have the same health problems on a one-on-one basis so that they can communicate for friendship and mutual support. FHC charges a nominal fee of $20 or whatever you are able to donate.

Survey for Parents of GBS Disabled Children
Celeste Chippero, along with other GBSA parents, has produced a 5-part survey for parents of GBS disabled children. "The intent of this survey is to find out if our children have been similarly disabled and to share information that can help us help our children", says Celeste, the mother of a GBS disabled son.The results of this survey will be summarized and returned to those who participate. It is our hope to have this information as a tool as we advocate for our children in the schools and with health professionals. This survey was put together by parents whose children were affected by GBS infections. If you would like a copy of the survey, please send a self-addressed, stamped 55 cents, legal envelope to GBSA, Attention Parent Survey, PO Box 16515, Chapel Hill, NC 27516.
