Error Logging

Consultants   Modules  Feedback/Guestbook

Error Logging automatically intercepts unfound bad link errors, checks for prior reports and records the source, the destination, browser, user's IP, and date/time in a database and sends an email to the site's web master. As a result, the web master is alerted instantly to bad links and can take the necessary steps to repair. This automatically increments a counter for the number of times the error has been encountered. If the error has not been encountered before, the web master is automatically emailed with the destination and source of error link. If user types in address that is error, that is not logged nor emailed.

A customized error page based on current site ID, is automatically sent with a list of sites subject areas in both pop-up navigation and text links with choices of where to go within the site rather than a cryptic error message. A link is provided to the feedback module for additional details to be given.

From the Website Manager's page , the area that needs attention is easily accessible.

A comprehensive listing of errors or bad links is shown with the URL where the error occurs.

Avoid losing your site users due to the frustration they feel when encountering an error on your site! They notify you when there is a problem. You notify them when the problem is corrected and they return to the site. It's as simple as that!

Manager's function: A manager's report will list all errors for a website for a certain date range and whether active or not. The manager's function is to deactivate an error once the repair is made.
