| Participant Cost: | $450 per day |
| This course is often taught as part of 2-day program with TANGO 202 for $750, or a 3-day program with TANGO 101 and TANGO 202 for $995. | |
| Duration: | 1 day, 8 hours |
| Description: | The Tango Query Document: its components, flow and capabilities. |
| You will learn to create query documents from scratch, eventually leaving the Tango Builder behind. The basic components of a query document and how it functions will be examined using simple "Insert" and "Search" query documents. You will also learn about programming delimiters, globals, logic, and flow control. The course culminates in the creation of a "Login System," which participants can take away with them, to demonstrate intermediate Tango concepts. | |
| Syllabus: | 1. Use the Builder to create a progressively more complex query document, examining at each stage what components it contains and how it executes. 2. Create an "Insert" query document that performs certain tests on stored values, and excutes differently under different circumstances. 3. Build a simple query document from scratch, without the aid of the Builder. 4. Create a production level Login System. |
| Business Issue: | Improves the quality of the Tango Developer with better query document fundamentals. |
| Who Should Attend: | Web developers who possess a solid understanding of HTML and some programming concepts, and who will be building Web-based applications |
| Prerequisites: | This session is designed for those who are currently Webmasters, and/or those who have a solid understanding of HTML and some programming concepts, and/or who have used Tango before. If you are interested in further hands-on training in a classroom environment and would like to discover the details behind Tango's query documents, this course is for you. |
| Upon Completion: | Participants will be able to: 1. Build a query document without using the Builder ("from scratch"), and understand how to read a query document (how it flows). 2. Identify the specific functions and relationships of the nine query document action items and the six action attributes. 3. Understand the difference between search arguments and post arguments. 4. Understand the use of global variables and Tango metatags to define such things as CGI parameters, post arguments, search arguments, and action results. 5. Create a Login System that includes preventing an unauthorized login, which participants can take away with them. |
